Every file listed on sx2nether.com is tested on real phones before any download button goes up. We install the emulator ourselves, set it up with our own legally dumped BIOS and legally backed-up games, and only publish download information for builds that pass our checks.
Our current test phones are the Galaxy A55 (Android 15), Pixel 8 (Android 16), Redmi Note 13 Pro (Android 14), Infinix Note 40 Pro (Android 14) and Galaxy A13 (Android 12). Testing across newer, mid-range and older hardware shows us how NetherSX2 performs on the phones and handhelds most readers actually use.
For each build we run a clean installation, review the permissions the app requests, check performance across a range of PlayStation 2 games, and run a safety scan on the file. Elena Petrova leads the NetherSX2 testing, checking compatibility, graphics rendering and controller support on each device.
When a new NetherSX2 version arrives, the same checks run again before the download information is updated. If a build fails the installation, permissions, performance or safety checks, it does not go up on this site.
The testing is led by our reviewer, whose background is on the author page, and every build that passes is published on the download page.
